Our mission

We are not alone on shift

First responders face trauma most people never see. The bad calls follow you home. The nightmares wake your family. And too often, there's no one to talk to at 3am who actually gets it. ServiceSurvivors is a room that stays open — for EMTs, firefighters, police officers, nurses, dispatchers, and everyone who runs toward the worst day of someone else's life.

“Being strong doesn't mean carrying it alone. It means knowing when to sit down next to someone who's been there too.”

The room

How it works

Four steps. No performance. No judgment. Crisis lines always one tap away.

1

Take care of yourself first

You can't pour from an empty tank. Sleep, routine, professional support if PTSD is in the room — then peer help.

2

One responder, one act

Not a movement — one phone call, one ride to the therapist, one coffee where you say: I've been on that call too.

3

Peer, not preacher

Listen more than you fix. Share experience, not sermons. A hand on the shoulder from someone who's worn the uniform.

4

Know your limits

If someone is in crisis, connect them to 988 or their department's EAP — you don't become their only lifeline.

Always open

Someone is in the room tonight

Steady companions who understand first responder life — crisis-aware, private, and present. Not your department. Not EAP. A hand on the shoulder when nobody else picks up.
